It's not a matter of if but when.

The DCT transmission is a marvel of engineering and remains to this day the best automated transmission BMW M ever fitted to a car. 

Unfortunately for us, BMW didn't expect its DCT transmissions to leak as we now know today. 

Upgrading its main pan is a core component to bulletproofing this transmission.

In this Special Series, I document my DCT transmission leaks, its major service plan, updated GTS filling specifications and the OE+ GTS DCT main oil pan.

Gasketless design.

The machined ridge is sealed using the provided Loctite 574 flange sealant.

Increased Oil Capacity.

The pan is designed to hold 1 liter over the OEM pan. It can hold 1.8 liters when building upon the GTS fill specs.

Improved Oil Flow.

The design incorporates improved inner wall configurations to improve flow across the pan.

Improved Cooling.

The fins are extended to provide additonal cooling surface, yet retain fitment with the transmission felt cover.

Fits with OE hardware

The pan is designed to re-use the OEM magnet, drain plug and oil pick up tube.
OE+ GTS spec hardware

The pan includes the GTS style "banjo" bolt and Loctite 574 flange sealant.

The banjo bolt allows DCT fluid filling to GTS spec and beyond, without requiring tilting the car to the driver side.

Installation Notes

I highly recommend professional installation. The DCT transmission is an expensive piece of mechanical and electronic equipment. An overlooked step could cost you a lot of money.
