The signature silver finish of BMW M cars, most notably of the M3 V8 generation.
Brushed & cleared.
The raw aluminum is evenly brushed across all sections of the wheel and clear coat.
Brushed & tinted.
The brushed finish is enhanced with tinted clear coat. Any colors can be used.
Build Journal
The wheels BBS didn't build.
BBS introduced flow forming technologies in 1996 and BMW M quickly jumped on board for the CSL.
The wheels promised to be lighter & stronger than cast wheels when using similar load rating, and barely more expensive to produce.
It wasn't all perfect: fitments were conservative, wheels were narrow and they sacrificed durability for lighter weight.
In this Series, I document my process to reimagining the classic CSL style using modern forged manufacturing processes.
