S54 GrandAm Forged Steel Flywheel

Swipe right for info.

Smart weight reduction.

The flywheel's design is optimized for centralized mass, reducing weight at the furthest edges to achieve the lowest inertia to meet GrandAm regulations.

It's made from forged steel.

Carbon forged steel is denser than aluminum, allowing machining to tighter tolerances.

Compatible with all OEM hardware.

The flywheel is designed to fit the Genuine BMW or equivalent clutch.

It's balanced to OE specs.

The dynamic balancing is done in-house to ensure a trouble free function.

Build journal: special series
Race technology that translates to the street.

Back in the early 2000s, S54s were heavily raced in Grand-Am. The series mandated flywheel designs that could only be 20% lighter than original.

TTV Racing took on the challenge and designed a flywheel that optimized central mass reduction.

In theory, this should make an ideal street flywheel, enough weight to retain drivability, but enough taken off to make a difference.

In this Special Series, I document TTV's S54 Clubsport kit and the GrandAm flywheel.

Enjoy,
