The single mass design reduces rotational inertia at the crank, transforming the low to mid range response of the S85.

Forged Carbon Steel.

This material is used by TTV Racing for its higher density than aluminum, thus higher durability.

Designed for OE clutches.

The flywheel matches with the high quality OE Sachs dual-disc clutch along with the original SMG3 software.

  • The complimentary OE clutch kits includes a brand new replacement clutch and throwout bearing. As of July 2025, I will include the pressure plate bolts as they are one-time use per BMW. You will need to source the ARP flywheel bolts.

The SMG3 OE+ lightweight flywheel is designed to fit with 9x Grade 12.9 bolts in M12x1.5x35mm dimensions. I recommend the ARP bolt kit #: 664-1003

The anxiety, and reality.

On most M cars, lightweight flywheels are a controversial modification subjective to noise & daily drivability tolerances.

I was anxious to fit this to my S85 SMG3. It is, after all, just a manual transmission with an hydraulic pump!
