S65/S85 OE+ MT Lightweight Flywheel

Swipe right for info.

It's 14.3 lbs lighter than OE.

The Genuine BMW S65 6spd flywheel is 27.5 lbs. This lightweight version weighs 13.2 lbs.

Designed for the original clutch.

It reduces drivetrain noise and retains the original pedal pressure.

It's made from forged steel.

Carbon forged steel is denser than aluminum, allowing machining to tighter tolerances.

It's balanced to OE specs.

The balancing is done in-house to ensure a trouble free function.

Build journal
Was it worth it?

Back in 2021, I took the plunge on testing DCT lightweight flywheels. Little had been documented it.

In this Series, I chat about my intentions with this upgrade, detail my unboxing impressions and the update design for 2022.

I follow it up with mission critical installation notes and wrap it up with my driving & sound impressions.

Enjoy,
- Matt

It rips through the gears up shift, it’s definitely like it’s gliding. Torque is put down stronger. It’s lighting up the tires like it’s supercharged.
