Carbon forged steel is denser than aluminum, allowing machining to tighter tolerances.

Central mass design.

8 lbs is removed off the crankshaft, with a focus on removing weight at the outer diameter.

2 piece design.

The hub is machined separately to be titanium nitride coated for enhanced hardness.

Dynamically balanced.

Holes are machined as a result of the process.

  • The OE clutch kit includes the Getrag replacement DCT clutches and RPM & temperature sensor as a while you're in there.
    • While recommended, replacing the DCT clutches is not mandatory for installation of the DCT flywheel as they do not come into contact.

Hardware notes

New bolts are included.

The OEM bolts are encased into the original flywheel. We thus include new bolts that require the same torque specifications as the original.

Little had been documented about lightweight flywheels on DCT - this had been a motorsport product until recently.

The allure was too great. I took the plunge.
