When I first got my Fire Orange M3 in 2018, I was dreaming of converting it to GTS spec - a dream is all I thought it would remain as I shopped some of our favorite BMW M parts importers in North America.
This specific journal entry looks back at the intention behind the crowdfunding project along with the prototype development of the M Performance style E9x M3 & 1M carbon mirror caps.
My goal: spend the night to Chicago, skip the Canadian border and sleep in Toronto. That was a planned 1,000 miles.
For Europeans out there: that's like doing Paris to Rome in a single day.
That didn't go according to plan.
