The OEM trunk comes in at 13.4 kg / 29 lbs. The carbon trunk weighs 3.5 kg due to its complete carbon construction.
OE fitment
The panel gaps mimic Genuine BMW parts with the needed adjustability to fine tune fitment.
1:1 OE design & functionality
The mold integrates the mini-lid spoiler and the cut outs for the lights, liner and lock mechanisms along with threaded inserts for bolted parts.
Ready to spray.
The trunk's outer shell is gel coated in white, while the inner section is a glossy black, with exposed carbon.

If BMW M had unlimited budget.
By the time the E92 GTS rolled out, BMW M had mastered carbon composite manufacturing at scale.
Yet the GTS' trunk was metal- with a car already prohibitively expensive, it seems the engineers got stopped short.
In this Special Series, I loop in my experiences with this OE+ carbon trunk route to creating a lightweight CSL style trunk for the E9x M3.

Wing Reinforcements
Alsatek can add additional carbon layers by the traditional mounting points for GTS and GT4 wings. It does not have any functionality nor fitment aesthetics. It does add a few hundred grams.
